Ongoing Contributions to Class (quality of translation and participation in
discussion: thoughtful questions, pertinent answers, insight,
logic, substance, and always courtesy - more than mere
attendance)
Penalty for excessive absences (see below) |

the Contribution component will have 2.5% deducted for each absence falling within the definition of excess (see below) |
Short quizzes (cumulative average; final quiz is weighted double) | 20% |
Article reports and discussion leadership (cumulative) | 20% |
Literary translations (cumulative) | 20% |
Work-in-Progress presentation | 5% |
Final Paper presenting the Research Project | 25% |
